  Maintenance Planning & ExecutionResponsible for mechanical/ maintenance department strategy through necessary procedures, processes, plans, and guidelines for the development of the annual preventive maintenance plan for all equipment, machines, components, and parts Responsible for the development of monthly preventive maintenance plans based on the annual plan and complete adherence to the planned maintenance schedule Lead spare part inventory planning based on historical data as well as results of periodic health assessment of machines, equipment, components, and partsSupport the creation of department level manpower plans and manpower budgets by assessing the manpower requirement for one’s own section. Take ownership for workload allocation and daily work management within one’s own section. Collaborate with Unit HR & IR department to support in meeting the manpower needs through interview, selection, screening, sourcing etc.
      Technical TroubleshootingOversee the day to day provision of breakdown engineering and maintenance services to operations department in a timely and cost-efficient mannerAnalyze instances of repeated breakdowns or failures in order to identify the root cause and suggest mitigation measures by collaborating with internal and external centers of excellencePlan and oversee periodic health assessments for equipment, spare parts, components and machines in order to identify and diagnose potential faults and breakdowns, with the objective of increasing longevity and mean time between failure and reducing breakdown timeEnsure that all service requests from operations department are proactively handled with a satisfactory level of quality and timeliness
      Utilities & Auxiliaries  MaintenanceDrive operational/ excellence initiatives such as TPM, Kaizen, TQM, Quality Circles, etc. by working closely with the central manufacturing excellence cell. Periodically provide manufacturing excellence training and awareness sessions to shop floor employees. Build operator / Fitters shop floor vigilance to support predictive maintenance.Work closely with the head of the department to identify and implement best practices from similar textile organizations / other similar units within VardhmanCollaborate with OEMs and vendors to identify opportunities for improvement in operational efficiencies, equipment and parts’ longevity, reduction in maintenance cost, development of low-cost indigenous spares and production cost optimizationEnsure compliance to established SOPs by regularly reviewing the number and nature of non- compliancesExecute initiatives for cost optimization through reduction in utilities consumption and wastage, reduced cost of utilities generation, reduction in power consumption, reduction in breakdowns and unscheduled maintenance, optimization of manpower through restructuring and work load reallocation and reduction in maintenance cost
          Maintenance ExcellenceResponsible for goal setting, periodic performance review, performance appraisal, and performance feedback of all supervisory, individual contributors and shop floor employees in the engineering section. Oversee the development of supervisory and individual contributor roles in the engineering department. Ensure high workmen productivity through motivation and regular engagement. Responsible for serving as the first point of contact for all shop floor grievances and discipline management. Collaborate with Unit HR & IR department to proactively implement initiatives for addressing absenteeism and attrition on the shop floor

    Additional Responsibility AreasProcurement – Provide technical support in procurement of equipment, spare parts, components, auxiliaries and other parts by technically evaluating bids to ensure conformance to specifications.
Management Reporting – Oversee the preparation and timely sharing of reports highlighting conformance to EHS standards, utilities and power consumption as per requirement,  breakdown, mean time between failure, maintenance cost and other ad-hoc reports
Liaison & Compliance Management – Support the head of the department in executing liaison and compliance of PESO Related documents/ Licences, bore-wells (HPGWA) related documents  availability of accurate data and responding to requests from statutory or government agencies. To update the status of compliances manager & AHMS. Conduct all internal/ third party testing of concern utility equipment.
