Commercial Department
The commercial department plays a vital role in smooth import and export documentation processing in the garments industry, directly involving importing raw materials and exporting finished goods. They work with banks, government authorities, and customs offices for the smooth supply chain of raw materials and finished goods. The role and importance of the commercial department are more important than any other department in the garments industry because if any task is delayed by them, the whole import and export system will be impacted.
Responsibilities of the Commercial department
1. Monitoring Import and Export Documents/Shipments for all orders.
2. Monitoring and completing BTB L/Cs, all Banking works, and Documentation.
3. Export payment follow up
4. Monitoring all Bank/ Insurance/ Customs relating to Export.
5. Coordinate with C&F where necessary.
6. Follow up and update/renew all licenses (e.g. BOND, ERC, IRC, TRADE, TIN, VAT, BGMEA REG, BGMEA membership, etc).
7. Maintain liaison with Buying Office, Shipping lines & Customs officials.
8. Responsibilities include determining the Commercial planning activities, Collaborating with finance on the budget.
9. Follow up with the Fabrics & Accessories supplier for any late goods laying at connecting port for a long time for early connection.
10. Preparing and submitting weekly Import Status to the Management.
11. Follow up operational process flows and arrange deliveries/ Shipments/ Documents in time.
12. Monitoring on-time monthly VAT return submit.
13. Monitoring on-time AIT submission.
14. Monitoring Cash Incentives and related works.
15. Monitoring Import and Export Documents/Shipments.
