Packaging is an important thing in the textile, apparel, and fashion industry. Carton boxes are packaging items, and corrugated carton boxes are used in garments as master cartons. Carton has important information, that information is important for selling and inventory. The cartons can be classified in many ways like by the ply number, size of boxes, or the use. Types of Carton boxes used in the Garments Industry
Carton Based on the number of Plies
- 3 Ply Carton (Automatic Carton box)– 3 Ply cartons have a single wall of the corrugated paper sheet and two liner paper on both sides. All 3-ply cartons are auto cartons.
- 5 Ply Carton (Automatic Carton box)— 5 Ply cartons have two walls of the corrugated paper sheet and 3 liner paper in between. 5 Ply boxes are stronger and thicker than 3 Ply cartons. All 5-ply cartons are auto cartons. Most of the garments industry used 3 and 5-ply cartons, these two cartons’ productivity is very high.
- 7 Ply Carton(Semi-Automatic Carton box/ Manual Carton box)— 7 Ply cartons have 3 walls of the corrugated paper sheet and 4 liner paper in between. 7 Ply boxes are stronger and thicker than 3 and 5 Ply cartons. All 7-ply cartons producing in the manual process, the machine is not able to produce in the auto process. 7-ply cartons productivity is less than auto cartons.
Based on use and size
Master Carton– Master carton is a larger carton having multiple garments in a carton box. Master carton load in the container for the shipment. A master carton may have a few inner cases inside of it, some cases as per buyer requirements. Only Master is used in most of the garments industry.
Inner Case– If the master case is broken up into smaller groupings of the product that would be done using an inner case, an inner case have one or a pair of garments.
