GPT
GPT stands for “Garment Package Test” or “Garment Performance Test”. So, it is a very common word in the garments industry. In “Garment package Test” includes different types of testing parameters. Every buyer or customer has their own testing parameters. The GPT test report is the production approval for the vendor. So, they make a sample for testing & send it to the testing lab. FPT stands for “Fabric Package Test” or “Fabric Performance Test”. So, it is also a very popular word in the textile industry. “Fabric package Test” includes different types of testing parameters. Fabric test proceeds on textile Mill. Textile mills cannot export fabric without testing. It is the approval for fabric production. Test proceeds as per buyer requirement. Basically, fabric tests depend on fabric yarn, count, and fiber content. If the test fails then again needs to be resubmitted & take approved. On the other hand, the buyer will not accept any failure report. FPT test proceeds on the approved testing lab. For FPT which tests are commonly conducted are listed below-

GCR
GCR stands for Garments Check Report and for Japaneseese as well as china products Formaldehyde and extra pH tests should be conducted. For China products, this test is commonly known as the GB test where pH, formaldehyde, and garment safety issues are tested.
Formaldehyde Test
A limited percentage of formaldehyde should be present in garments that are shipped to Japan country, therefore Formaldehyde test would be conducted in JAPAN.
In the garments and textiles industry, before starting bulk production some testing would be conducted according to the buyer’s requirements.
