Quality Control Procedure of Down Filling and Template Quilting in the Apparel Industry

To ensure 100% Quality, full Down filling, and error-free production, this procedure will be used. This procedure will be used to ensure quality work on all new styles of down fillings and Quilting. How to handle Quilted Fabric in the sewing process to get the best possible quality? Here I present the Quality Control Procedure of Down Filling and Template Quilting Fabric in the Apparel Industry.

Quality Control Procedure of Down Filling and Template Quilting Fabric in the Garments Industry:

Down Storage

  1. Temperature: 20o C
  2. Humidity: Below 60%
  3. Down stored at least 30 cm above off the ground and away from any external-facing walls. |
  4. Down is not kept in preproduction storage for more than 24 hours if conditions cannot be controlled.

Down handling

  1. Down filling room is separated from sewing line.
  2. Auto or manual mixing is required before filling  down on panel.

Down Filling

  1. As per our company’s SOP and management guidelines, down can’t burst, no flying down and no down wearing on the floor.
  2. The panels should be checked first so that the down is will not burst.
  3. Filling should be ensured as per the down measurement chart.
  4. Down filling cannot be done with excess pressure.
  5. After inserting the down panel, the openings should be closed with clips.
  6. A swing allowance of 8-10 mm/ as per requirement should be ensured on both sides of the mouth closing panel.
  7. Down weight should be checked randomly to confirm and report should be preserve.
  8. 100% metal scanning should be preform before delivery in swing process and report shall be maintained.
  9. After the metal scan, the panels must be covered in polythene and delivered to the swing line.

Template Quilting Process in Apparel

  1. From sewing line received panel must be check and ensure no oil mark, reject, busting problem on panel.
  2. Must be ensure that quilting line is even .
  3. Must be aware of pleating while quilting.
  4. Quilting sewing must be performed with a standing position.
  5. Problematic panel can’t quilting. before quilting must be taken approve from responsible person
  6. Quilting time cut mark must be follow 100%.
  7. Quilting time must ensure that fiver distribution is correct .
  8. Quilting  time must be ensure that thread tension is correct
  9. As per style requirement needle must be change
  10. After quilting must be perform 100% quality checking and report must be preserve.
  11. After completing quilting process, before handover to line must be ensure100% panel metal scanning.
